The All Stars, the Rhythm Project’s premiere performing ensemble and 2009 &2010 PANorama Caribbean Music Fest grand champions has earned International acclaim with their high energy performances over the years. They have opened for Gladys Knight, collaborated with the Girl’s Choir of Harlem, and performed at the Royal Nova Scotia and Virginia International Tattoos.
Students are admitted to this ensemble by audition only. Members participating in Rhythm Project Rising Star ensembles for at least two years are preferred. The All Stars is now comprised of 18 members:

The York County School of the Arts Steelband is one of two programs added to the Rhythm Project family of ensembles in the spring of 2012. Currently, it is the only Rhythm Project program on the Peninsula. This group is open to all York County School of the Arts students.

Typically, students are recruited from middle schools in the Tidewater area to participate in the Rhythm Project. In Norfolk however, Rising Stars are recruited from Fairlawn Elementary School; eighteen 4th and 5th grade students participated in this steelpan ensemble during the 2010-2011 academic year.

The Virginia Beach Rising-Stars was established in the fall of 2004. In the early years of the program, members of this ensemble were selected from the music programs at Kempsville, Salem, Brandon, and Larkspur middle schools by audition. The program is now open to ALL middle school band students in the city of Virginia Beach.
